How can someone who used to preach about God’s love suddenly become buried deep in sin? Is it not weird how a person who basked in the grace and glory of God can very easily be thrown off the high horse of righteousness and become his own worst nightmare.
Sin is so wicked that in this era of social media, it finds a means to announce to the world that this man who used to serve God fervently has now succumbed to sin and is now it’s slave. Oh how it brags. That the very one who was saving souls for God is now basking in the very sins he preached against. How proud the devil must be of this fact.
If this has happened to you, please understand that there is nothing new under the face of the earth. We are tempted to hide our face in shame, go off the radar and never show up. But I do not believe this is the right thing to do.
You need to keep showing up. Own your wrong doings and repent of them and then move on to greater things. It doesn’t matter how many times you fall. Just keep moving.
The key fact about being human is the inconsistency of man. Being human is all about falling down and standing up. It’s all about repentance. There’s no limit to how often you can repent. What matters is the genuineness of your repentance; the work you put in to stay true to God; the sorrow in your heart as you struggle with sin. Every other feeling involved is mere pride.
The devil’s mission is to make a fool out of God’s children. Do not let him. Stay true to God whom you serve, worship him in truth and in spirit, shower him with praise and thanksgiving every day. But in the unfortunate event that you betray him and go outside of his will, please come back. Even if the whole world is ashamed of your sin, God is proud and happy that you are back home; safe with him. Focus on God’s love and ignore any superfluous nonsense.
