God is ever loving and ever forgiving. For centuries, through multiple prophets, He has been calling to us to repent but we did not listen to Him. And then eventually, He decided to come down Himself in the person of His son. He became man in order to save us. He taught us about God, prayed with us, performed miracles to teach the magnificence of God, He told us all kinds of stories about Him; all so that we could repent and surrender ourselves to God.

But humankind in spite of all Jesus’ teachings and miracles, resisted Jesus. We were determined to kill him. So we said all kinds of lies and cruel words against Him and killed Him. And after His death, we saw how wicked we had been. The death of Jesus gave us a true reflection of our own wickedness. So that many realised that truly Jesus whom they had killed was truly the son of God. “Indeed, God sent His son to teach and bless us, and in return, we killed Him!” And in seeing their own sinfulness, they realised God’s love and mercy. Thus proclaiming like in the psalm “who am I that thou art mindful of me ?”

Through the death of Jesus, mankind has come to realise God’s immense love for them. Christ’s death and resurrection has helped man to believe all of His teachings and miracles. Christ succeeded in turning the heart of man to God like never before. None of the prophets sent before Christ could have impacted humankind half as much as Christ did. So that thousands of years later, Christ’s soldiers keep springing up and are being led by God’s spirit to preach the gospel of Christ throughout the world. A mighty victory indeed.

The most important lesson of the death of Christ is that God loves us immensely and will do anything to bring us back to Him. Even if it means sending His own son to teach us; knowing fully well that we will kill Him in the end; but still proceeding to send Him.

God will do anything to save you. God loves you that much x
