Watch your body language, don’t keep a poker face it makes everyone uncomfortable, the way you walk seems lazy and laid back, walk faster and more confidently. Engage with people nicely with a smile, don’t let your mood get in the way. Respond confidently, even when you’re not sure. Pretend to know it all.
The British style; there’s so much to learn and unlearn. When you’re used to putting yourself down for others to shine, or out of respect or humility, you’ll find yourself struggling a lot. Because here, they hold on to the tiniest negative thing. Regardless of your pure intentions or how perfect you are. So you find that even the dull and lazy ones thrive here because they’re the best at packaging themselves nicely.
Smiling sweetly when they detest you and speaking confidently without stuttering even when they’re talking absolute nonsense.
I’m now learning their ways. Learning to tell white lies, and to pretend to be who I’m not. Just so that I can thrive. How I hate to do this. But I can’t think of a better way. I’m not sure when it all ends but I know that I just want to thrive blissfully.
