I have received more NOs than I can count. From job applications, that were not good enough, to interviews that were not successful,  to other opportunities that I was probably not qualified enough for.

Today,  I applied to give a professional  training to a group of people. And yet a again,  I received a NO.  My first reflex,  was to get depressed about it. But on a second thought,  I remembered a talk I listened to on Facebook,  it was a talk by Alibaba on Goalcast.  According to him,  if you really want to succeed,  be ready to receive series of NOs.

That you’re declined today doesn’t mean that you’re a failure; yes it could mean that you’re not ready,  it could mean that there’s something you need to correct or improve on, but it sure doesn’t mean that you’re a loser.

Opportunities would always present themselves.  That the existing opportunity didn’t pull through does not mean you’re not good enough for the next opportunity that comes.

I always tell myself,  all the companies that ever turned me down,  will one day regret it.  At some point,  when I have achieved my goals, the people who thought they had no need for my applications would pay huge amounts to make use of my services. I’ll become so valuable that the very people who criticised my judgement and opinion in the past,  will come to me seeking advice and solutions. And they’ll pay greatly for it. The thought of this is what keeps me going. It motivates me to a point that I fret and sweat at the thought of not achieving it. It makes me so hungry for knowledge and experience that I’ll gladly accept an offer that pays next to nothing just for a chance to develop myself and grow.

Personal development is key to being successful.  Do whatever needs to be done,  as long as you’re adding inestimable value to yourself. And be really selfish about it,  because you’re really the only one that matters. Only you has the key to your success,  so avoid sentiments and pride and pursue success with all your might. Also overcome laziness and procrastination,  as this is the easiest way to remain stagnant in life.

The next opportunity might be just right for you. Never loose faith. You’re beautiful and excellent in your own different way. The best is yet to come,  just keep believing.

This is a wonderful write up and a special one for me because it just made me ready for what’s to come.
More grace and knowledge to you dear. Shine and dominate. God bless you.

Amazing and insightful…. This is enough reason for someone to keep trying. As a writer in this part of the word you have to get used to hearing No like an anthem but the Yes will surely come and it would blow you off your feet.
    God bless you richly, Rita.

I resonated with this. Denial isn’t failure. That you were turned down today doesn’t mean you’ll be turned down for ever. I believe when this happens to me is God’s way of saying better things are ahead and I shouldn’t get stuck where I wouldn’t easily uproot myself
